More injustice, this time at the public school level....

"MITCHELL — A large portion of Mitchell High School students could be in the pool selected for random drug testing.
At Monday’s regular meeting, the Mitchell Community Schools board heard the random drug testing committee’s recommendation to include students involved in extracurricular activities, those who drive to school, those who take driver’s education and previous offenders of the school’s drug policy. Parents or guardians could also request their student be included in the group.
Superintendent John Lantis, however, made a suggestion based on his research from other schools who have a similar drug testing policy. He said it might be best to implement these student groups in stages, so that the process can start at a place, “where we can do well.”
He mentioned a few kinks that still need worked out, like how the policy will work with the school’s open campus, the need to hire an additional staff member if the pool gets to a certain size, and the fact that the exact discipline would need to be put in writing for members of clubs and students who drive. The discipline is already spelled out for student-athletes in the athletic handbook.
Lantis encouraged the board members to ask questions at the meeting, or after a couple of days, so that he could provide answers at the June meeting, as well as projected costs, so that a first reading of the policy can go through. The policy, then, is set to be approved in July. "

Such a great way to undermine the parents. Oh, and VIOLATE your constitutional protection from illegal/improper search and seizure..
